Tarte: Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in Delish

Rated: 4/5.!

In last months Ipsy bag I received Tarte's Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in Delish. I absolutelyyyyyy love this stuff.!! It's such a gorgeous color on my skin tone. It's a nice rosy mauve color, but isn't too dark on me. There is very very limited transfer with this product, and it dries down nicely. I did notice it wears down easier than some when eating, etc, but nothing too bad.! This has definitely been my latest go-to liquid lip, and I actually plan on buying more colors of this.!

Neogen Coconut Milk Pure Mild Cleanser

Rated: 1/5.!

In last months Ipsy bag I received a really well sized sample of the Neogen Coconut Milk Pure Mild Cleanser. Unfortunately, I hated this.! It smelt like baby diaper rash cream in my opinion, which was awful. After my first use, it reallllly dried my face out.! Like.. I got out of the shower and my face looked like it hasn't seen an ounce of moisture in months. It was awful. I tried it again a few days later, and same result. For an "all skin types" face wash, this stuff did not agree with my skin at all.

Trust Fund Beauty Lip Gloss

Rated: 3/5.!

In my January Ipsy Glam Bag I received a Trust Fund Beauty brand Lip Gloss in the color Blame Game. When I swatched the gloss on my hand, the color looked a bit deeper and very pretty, but once on my lips, it honestly didn't do much for me. I mean yes, it darkened them a bit, but generally I think it gave me a very natural look more than anything. Which can be great, don't get me wrong, I was just hoping for a bit more color.! The lip gloss is a bit sticky and tacky, but nothing too bad to where it's uncomfortable to wear. But it did require to me reapply it a loooot throughout the day. It dried up and was worn off quite quickly in my opinion. Not bad, but not the best either.

Here are the bags I've received so far in 2017.! I haven't posted any unboxing videos for them, but I do have all inclusive photos for once, haha.!

Ipsy Bag Round Up 2016

I just wanted to post a quick view of all my Ipsy bags I received in 2016, and I'll be doing a separate post for the ones I've gotten so far in 2017.! I haven't been filming unboxings for these too much recently due to phone issues, so I know there's quite a few I've received and they never got posted here. This should help explain where some of my products I review are coming from.! I plan to start doing more compilations of my mail call posts I do over on my Instagram that show what other freebies I've been receiving, because not all of them always make their way over here for a review.!

August:

Here is my first Ipsy bag I received. I apparently never took a photo of this, but I know I've done an uboxing which can be found HERE. I wanted to include this despite not having a photo since obviously, this was a bag I received last year.!

 September:

I again apparently lacked to take a photo of this one. Eek. This one also has an unboxing video though, watch it HERE.!

 October:

Go figure I got a photo of the actual bag this month.. But not the contents.! Watch the unboxing video HERE.!

 November:

No unboxing video this month, but this bag did include some great goodies.!

December:

I did do an unboxing video for the last bag of 2016, but in general this bag was a huge win.! Check out the unboxing HERE.!

Jersey Shore Cosmetics Peppermint Moisture Rich Hydrating Balm

Rated: 5/5.!

In my Ipsy bag this month, I received this Jersey Shore Cosmetics Peppermint Moisture Rich Hydrating Balm (boy that's a mouth full..) I was SUPER unsure of it at first, because I usually hate peppermint products, flavors, scents, etc. It's just not my thing. But... Go figure, I LOVE THIS STUFF.! It's so great.! It goes on so smooth and makes my lips soooo soft. It does definitely smell like Peppermint, but the scent doesn't linger around too terribly long once applied, and I've yet to pick up on any real flavor from it. I mean, this is my new go-to chapstick for sure. My lips haven't been this soft in years, and I can't stop applying it because I love the scent.! Seriously y'all, go freaking figure, haha.!

Ciaté London Liquid Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in Pin Up

Rated: 4/5.!

This was not the easiest to get a nice photo of, so do please excuse that picture.! But I've gotta tell y'all about my new favorite, go-to lipstick. I am seriously in loooooove with this stuff that I got in my Ipsy bag.! This is the Ciaté London Liquid Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in color Pin Up. It's a super gorgeous berry-purple like color, and it's ridiculously flattering on my skin tone. Though it is a liquid lipstick, it's very matte, but not too drying. My ONLY complaint with this lipstick is how horribly it transfers.! Which is honestly funny because you can't tell at all that it's coming off. My lips will still look perfect even after several kisses on my husband (which completely comes off on him), drinking from a cup, and eating food. It'll transfer off on to EVERYTHING, but you totally can't tell on my lips.! My mother in law made a comment about it because she noticed how much came off on a napkin at Christmas dinner, but how good it still looked on. I've worn this stuff several times now and I'm still impressed with it. Absolutely in love.!

NYX Professional Makeup Prismatic Shadow in FIREBALL

Rated: 4/5.!

Another Ipsy product I wasn't sure how I'd feel about, that took me by surprise, was this NYX eyeshadow in the color Fireball. The color is a pretty copper tone, though a little orange for my taste. It goes on really smooth and VERY pigmented, and blends out fairly easy. I've actually been wearing this one a lot recently because it's just so easy to put on, and it matches nicely with my new favorite lipstick. I'll definitely be looking into some other colors from this line soon.!

Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum

Rated: 5/5.!

I got this "Hey Honey" Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum in my November Ipsy bag, and honestly, I was shocked.! At first when I saw it in my item line up I was NOT excited at all. "Uhg, Another moisturizer I can't use" was my first thoughts, and I was ready to just toss it aside. Then when it actually came in, I read the bottle a little more, and decided to give it a try anyways. I'm sooo glad I did.! This stuff is NOT your normal moisturizer. I can't use your typical moisturizer because I have super oily skin naturally, and all moisturizers make it a million times worse. The Hey Honey serum can be used as a moisturizer, primer, and base for your full face of makeup.! I don't use full face makeup, but I love how easily this stuff just rubs in to your skin. It absorbs quickly, doesn't leave me looking greasy, and although it does give me a bit of "shine", it isn't awful at all. I love this stuff.! I use it as a base for my eyeshadow, and it's my new go-to daily moisturizer because it's so perfect for my skin. Absolute win for Ipsy on this one.!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

Rated: 4/5.!

In one of my previous Ipsy bags I received a sample of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I hear looots of people swear by this stuff, so I was excited to try it out, though I also see a lot of negative reviews about the wand. I couldn't wait to try it for myself.! Over all, I like the mascara. I've started using it as my daily, though it gives me kind of mixed results every time I use it. As you can see in the photo below, one eye came out much thicker and fuller while the other is thin, though long, so it's more natural looking.! I'm not sure what's causing the mixed results other than the possibility of it just being because of my natural lashes. Unfortunately with this mascara, you can NOT go back and add to it once it's sat for a few minutes. It dries quickly, so if you go back over it, it comes out clumpy and "spiderleg" looking. So I was stuck with one full set of lashes due to that. Some days I've managed to make them match though, and when I'm able to do it, I love this mascara.! It's just unfortunately hit or miss a lot for me.

INDI Beauty Buttercream Lip Scrub

Rated: 4/5.!

One item I received in my October Ipsy bag was this Indi Beauty brand Buttercream Antioxidant Lip Scrub. I've never used a lip scrub before, but I get super chapped lips, so I've always wanted to try one. I used this one to remove my Maybelline Superstay 24 liquid lipstick, which requires an oil based make up remover to get off. This did a good job of getting that dark red lipstick off, though it took two tries to get it fully wiped away. It left my lips really soft, and it smells super nice without being too strong. I think this small container will actually last a good bit too, as it doesn't require nearly as much as you think it would to get a good scrub going on your lips.! I would definitely buy more lip scrubs in the future after trying this one out.

Tarte Cosmetics Tarteist™ Lash Paint Mascara

Rated: 5/5.!

I received this Tarteist mascara in my September Ipsy Bag and I love it.! As you can see in my first photo, my eye lashes are kind of naturally a mess. I used to be really bad about pulling them out when wearing mascara, so it's caused them be kind of uneven and funky now. I think this mascara really helps mask that issue when I'm wearing it and makes my lashes look long, thick, and voluminous on both eyes.! I love it.! I apply it kind of thick on my lashes, to get that look, but I've also applied just a few coats and it still gave me a nice light coverage that looked natural. Some mascaras get a sticky and heavy feel through out the day, and I haven't noticed that at all with this one. No lashes clumping together, none of my top lashes sticking to the bottom ones, no heavy feeling or melting off during the day. Definitely a big win here.!

Marc Anthony True Professional Deep Hydrating Treatment

Rated: 2/5.!

So, in my Ipsy bag for August, I received the dreaded challenging item for me... A conditioner. Marc Anthony True Professional
Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco Deep Hydrating Treatment to be exact (Boy that is a mouth full.!) I have very difficult hair to work with, as it's long, thick, naturally curly, and just doesn't love to try out new products very often. Every time I'm sent conditioners (without an accompanying shampoo) to try, I hold off forever to try them because my hair hates it. This was no different.. The first time I used it, my hair looked soooo gross and greasy the immediate next day (Which is not good for someone who does not wash their hair daily.!) I had horrible build up on my scalp from it, and I was just not a fan. I sucked it up though and I tried it again a few days later. This just didn't do much for my hair at all. I didn't have the same dirty feel and build up the second time (avoided it getting on my scalp) but it didn't make my hair feel any softer or hydrated, at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure my hair felt very dry after. I just wasn't a fan of this product at all. I'm sure someone with more normal hair may have better luck, but I won't be using this again.

Josie Maran Whipped Mud Mask

Rated: 2/5

I really wanted to like this Josie Maran Whipped Mud Mask in Vanilla Apricot that I got in my Ipsy bag for August, but truthfully, I just did not. It felt weird on my face after a few minutes, smelt bad, and dried my hands out terribly after I rinsed it off of them. But, it generally just didn't do much for me. My skin didn't really feel any softer, it felt exactly like it does after I wash it. Which, makes sense since it wants you to apply this to an already cleansed and still moist face... I actually applied a moisturizer (which I very rarely do) to my skin after using this because I'm a little worried about it drying my face out the way it did my hands. I'm sure others have had better experiences with this product, well at least I'd hope someone has good experiences if they paid for this $48 mud mask. But, all in all, I can't imagine rating this higher than a 2, and I'm thankful it was just an item in my $10 Ipsy bag. There was about 2 applications in this .24 oz bottle, so maybe I'll give it another try one day, and if there's any difference then, update this review.

Rodial Smokey Eye Pen

Rated: 4.5/5.!

In my August Ipsy Glam Bag, I received a really great eye liner from the UK brand Rodial. It's a "smokey eye pen", so it's designed to smudge very easily when applied to and around the eye. I use it in my water line and on my lid. It smudges incredibly well, and goes on very smooth in the water liner. It lasts all day with only a little bleed under my eyes, which is wonderful.! One thing that really threw me off right out of the bag though, is that although the bottom of this eyeliner appears like it would be a twist liner, it isn't. The tube is also made of plastic, so assuming you're meant to sharpen it is a bit confusing. I've tried looking online with no luck, so I guess I'll just try to figure it out more when the time comes. The bit of bleed and sharpening confusion is what I deducted half a point for, but over all, I really love this stuff.! I plan to continue using it regularly.

Ciaté London Paint Pot Nail Polish

Rated: 3/5.!

In my August Ipsy Glam Bag, I received this Ciate London Paint Pot nail polish in the color Spinning Teacup, I was quite excited because I thought this color was gorgeous. A little more grey than it looks in the bottle, it's still very pretty. But, the polish formula isn't my favorite. The brush included is very thick, which makes the polish feel globby when trying to apply, although the polish itself is actually quite thin and runny. The color also isn't very opaque unless you apply a good amount of coats. So, over all, I'd give this polish a 3 out 5. I plan to keep it in my collection as I really like the color, but it's not a brand I'd go out and personally buy again.
